HISTORY

Everyone loves a warm apple crisp in the fall but what about Cranberry Pear Crisp? The flavor combination of juicy, tart cranberries and crisp pears is delicious. Allie and Dan of Love and Risotto mentioned in their blog post that they ate this as a dessert with ice cream and also had it for breakfast the following day, they couldn’t get enough. This recipe is a crowd pleaser and with our frozen cranberries available all year long, not limited to the holiday season!

RECIPE

Ingredients

2 Cups Cape Cod Select Premium Frozen Cranberries
1 Cup Pears, Diced
1 Cup Rolled Oats
1 Cup Brown Sugar, Divided
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 Cup Almonds, Chopped
1/4 Cup Flour
1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
6 Tsp Butter, Melted

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease baking dish.

2. In a medium sized bowl, combine the frozen cranberries, pears, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and salt. Mix well and pour into baking dish.

3. In a separate mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, chopped almonds, rolled oats, flour, nutmeg, and butter. Mix well and pour over cranberry mixture that is already in baking dish.

4. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until bubbly.

Serving

Serve warm over vanilla ice cream as a delicious dessert or without ice cream and enjoy it for breakfast.

Another option is serving it cool over plain or vanilla yogurt.
